About NRHH
NRHH
The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is a collegiate honorary which promotes service and recognition to residence halls. Our chapters have the opportunity to engage in Of the Month (OTM) recognition awards, collaborate on NRHH regional/national award bids, and help give back to their communities.
Although all members are connected by the honorary, each chapter has a unique identity expressed through special programming, service initiatives, and chapter traditions. Our goal at MACURH is to help foster these unique identities while providing equitable opportunities for our chapters to grow and connect.
Brief History
In 1964, the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH), Inc. founded the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) as part of a larger grant proposal to expand NACURH and create an arm of the organization focused towards offering new services around recognition of residence hall leaders. Today, over 100 chapters are affiliated with the honorary across the world.
Activities of the chapters vary from campus to campus. Some simply induct new members at an annual recognition banquet every year, thus, and others are extremely active on their campuses and in their communities, coordinating leadership retreats, conferences, socials, hall or campus wide programs, fund raisers, and a whole host of other events. Still others have found a middle ground which suits their campus. Membership selection is conducted by each individual chapter. The chapter members are student leaders on campus and are those who have contributed extraordinary amounts of time and energy in order to make the residence halls more than a “dorm.”
Chapters
MACURH is one of the 8 regions of NACURH, the largest student run organization in the world. MACURH serves 7 states: Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota and 2 provinces: Manitoba and Nunavut. Below is a list of affiliated NRHH chapters within MACURH.
