Housing for this Regional Business Conference will be at La Quinta here in Pittsburg, Kansas. The hotel is only a mile away (0.9) from the Overman Student Center, where the conference will be held.


The hotel offers many amenities, like free breakfast from 6:30 A.M.- 8 A.M., swimming pool, fitness center, free and fast wifi, meeting rooms, and is pet friendly. The hotel agreed to extend the pool and fitness center hours to 24 hours a day, but there will not be anyone to supervise the areas, so the guests will use the areas at their own risk.



For breakfast, the hotel offers a variety of options so that anyone with allergies is able to start their day by eating something. The hotel offers waffles, pastries, bagels, milk, hot and cold cereal, bread and muffins, fresh fruit, and all you can drink coffee and juice. The hotel also has a room full of snacks that are purchasable. The conference staff will have a meeting room open as a hospitality room with free snacks and drinks for the conference guests from 9:30 P.M.-11 P.M. on Thursday and Friday, and from 9-11 P.M. on Saturday.


Each person will receive their own key and they will be replaced if lost free of charge. The hotel will give the keys to the conference staff on opening day so that we are able to appoint them to the guests at registration.


There are 6 ADA accessible rooms, 4 are King, 1 is an Executive King, and 1 is an Executive Queen. There are 76 room altogether, and we have booked the entire hotel for a rate of $115/room.

All dietary needs and restrictions will be accommodated for once made known to Conference Staffs.


Delegates will be assembling Comfort Kits for the Children’s Advocacy Center in Pittsburg, Kansas. These Comfort Kits will be distributed to children who have suffered abuse in order to provide them with some solace during this troublesome time of their lives. The Children’s Advocacy Center has a focus on educating individuals and families that have been abused and providing them with the resources that they need to learn and grow.

We are asking delegations to bring non-perishable food items for the Gorilla Assistance Pantry. Spirit points will be awarded to delegations who contribute. This pantry persistently offers students and teachers in need three day supplies of food.

The 2019 MACURH Regional Business Conference will be a paperless conference. We will utilize Guidebook for our programs, updates, and evaluations.

The Overman Student Center is fully equipped with water bottle refill stations that delegates will be encouraged to use as shown in the picture.
